Zelenskyy Lands in Switzerland for Trump Talks, WEF

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy landed in Switzerland on Thursday for high-level talks with US President Donald Trump and to join the World Economic Forum, according to Ukrainian officials.

“The President of Ukraine arrived in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum and meet with President Trump,” Zelenskyy’s press secretary, Serhii Nykyforov, told Ukrainian media outlets, including a state news agency.

Nykyforov confirmed the bilateral meeting is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m. Kyiv time (1200 GMT). He added that Zelenskyy will also deliver a formal address at the forum and participate in a panel discussion.

On Wednesday, Trump told reporters he would meet Zelenskyy during the Davos summit, initially indicating the encounter might occur that day before clarifying the schedule. “It’s tomorrow (Thursday),” Trump said when asked to confirm the timing.

The annual World Economic Forum convenes global leaders, corporate executives, and policymakers to debate pressing economic and security challenges.
